the ctrl button doesn't seem to do anything in this edition . When an accent is required I usually would use ctrl and "'". In this edition it doesn't. Anyway it's been a great application (over the years) and thanks for all the help. John

Hi John,
could you please describe in more details on which keyboard layout you are working?
Don't you have accents as a normal key or to combine with Shift/AltGr on your keyboard?
Best wishes,
Daniel

I have no idea if anyone will look at this after this long but here goes.
In Micro$oft Word you can easily insert accents with certain key combinations even on an English keyboard and without knowing the Unicode point. For example, to get é (e acute) you press Ctrl + ' and then e. To get è (e grave) you would press Ctrl + ` and then e. This makes it very fast to type when you need accents.
Unfortunately MemoryLifter's implementation is not this efficient: although accents are easily accessible you need to have the dialog open (which gets in the way of other things because it floats on top) and move your hands from the keyboard to the mouse every single time you want to insert an accent. It would basically make MemoryLifter perfect for me if you could insert accents without leaving the keyboard in an MSOffice-esque style.
